Research direction
Start by reproducing the issue on ArchLinux with the NVIDIA open GPU kernel module, kernel 5.10.155-1-lts510, and the listed RTX 3060 Laptop GPU. Inspect the brightness and max_brightness entries and verify how writing 10 affects the screen. Done means brightness values map to the expected screen levels and the behavior is covered by an appropriate regression check.
