Does this happen with the proprietary driver (of the same version) as well?

Describe the bug

After the kernel driver is loaded, the kernel log does not report an error and only displays the following contents,

nvidia: loading out-of-tree module taints kernel.
nvidia_peermem: module license 'Linux-OpenIB' taints kernel.

but the nvidia smi command prompts
NVIDIA SMI has failed because it could not communicate with the NVIDIA driver Make sure that the latest NVIDIA driver is installed and running.

Load the kernel driver and run the nvidia-smi command
