Research direction
Start by reproducing the issue on Arch Linux with the NVIDIA 525.53 driver, sway or another wlroots-based compositor, and kernel 6.0.8; run cat /dev/urandom to observe the artifacts and check the invisible cursor. Trace the compositor and driver interaction responsible for these symptoms, then verify that flickering and cursor rendering work correctly in the reported setup.
