Description

The Nvidia drivers 610.43.02 currently fail to build on Linux kernel 7.2-rc1.

Attached patches let the driver build on 7.2-rc1, they are only for testing but work fine on my RTX 3080.

They can be used until official support for kernel 7.2 is out, the patches are fully vibe coded with Claude so use at your own risk.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the NVIDIA 610.43.02 build failure against Linux kernel 7.2-rc1, then inspect the attached drm-atomic-state-to-commit-linux-7.2.patch and strncpy-removed-linux-7.2.patch. Done means the driver builds successfully on that kernel and the workaround is validated beyond the reporter's test hardware.
