Description

What is your question?

Is the following _cast method being used in CuTeDSL ?

https://github.com/NVIDIA/cutlass/blob/954503d44ce9180a15ec4bd0bcfd1268f650e03d/python/CuTeDSL/cutlass/base_dsl/_mlir_helpers/arith.py#L247-L288

I couldn't find any references to _cast in the doc or source code, so I'm wondering what is its specific role in CuTeDSL ?

Research direction

Start with python/CuTeDSL/cutlass/base_dsl/_mlir_helpers/arith.py at the referenced _cast method, then search the CuTeDSL source and documentation for references to _cast. Done means determining whether it is used and recording its specific role or confirming that the question needs no code change.
