[DOC]: Resurrect lost information from the old Thrust wiki

[Software archaeology](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_archaeology) let me to reach out to the founder of Thrust and I was gifted with an archived Thrust wiki that seems to contain some useful information missing in our current Thrust docs.
