Research direction
The report names Apex, PyTorch 1.2, and torch.distributed; first reproduce the AttributeError in the stated conda environment and inspect Apex's distributed-training entry points. Done means Apex runs with PyTorch 1.2 without requesting the missing attribute, with the compatibility behavior verified by a focused regression check.
