Description
Hi, I'm trying to train with FP16. Whenever I set BN layers to float type, it gives me
RuntimeError: Expected object of type torch.cuda.HalfTensor but found type torch.cuda.FloatTensor for argument #3 'weight'
- Environment: PyTorch 0.4, apex master branch
Does anyone have any ideas?

Research direction
The report names no repository files, tests, or entry points. Start by reproducing the PyTorch 0.4/Apex FP16 setup with batch-normalization layers cast to float and trace the failing weight argument. Done requires identifying a confirmed cause and recording a reproducible fix or regression test.
