Description
When I compiled version 2.6 from source code, I encountered the following problem when importing packages: File "/home/hadoop-friday-studio/.conda/envs/verl/lib/python3.12/ctypes/init.py", line 379, in init
self._handle = _dlopen(self._name, mode)
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
OSError: /home/hadoop-friday-studio/.conda/envs/verl/lib/python3.12/site-packages/transformer_engine/libtransformer_engine.so: undefined symbol: _ZN18transformer_engine9to_stringERK15NVTEScalingMode

Research direction
Start by reproducing the import failure while compiling version v2.6, then inspect the loading of site-packages/transformer_engine/libtransformer_engine.so and the reported undefined symbol. Compare the build and runtime versions involved. Done means importing the packages after compilation no longer raises the OSError.
