Research direction
The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. Begin by locating TimelineJS's date and calendar handling, then determine how the requested Hijri calendar and potential Hebrew, Persian, and Chinese calendars should be represented and tested; done means non-Gregorian dates work correctly without disrupting existing timelines.
