Description

Would wrf-python be interested in implementing a feature that recreates grids/nested-grids which can be used to plot data on the same domain as the model without needing the model output. It's still a work in process. A few of my issues hopefully will be easily solvable in a future Cartopy release.

Research direction

Start by reviewing the linked namelist_plot project and the issues described as depending on a future Cartopy release. Determine how WRF Preprocessing (WPS) grids and nested grids should be represented without model output. Done means the required grids can be recreated and used to plot data on the model's domain, but the issue does not define specific files or tests.
