Description

Had a user request the ability to read/write the intermediate files. Although most users use WPS, should probably support the WRFSI and MM5 as well. See

Research direction

Start with the linked WRF intermediate-file tutorial and inspect the repository's existing input/output paths; the issue names no files, tests, or entry points. Clarify the required WPS, WRFSI, and MM5 formats and define completion as verified reading and writing support for the agreed formats.
