Research direction

Start with the case directory and its user_nl_mom settings, then compare this clone with run 170 (#98). Review the linked diagnostics and raw output to determine whether the KPP formulation, wave-enhanced ustar, Bodner Cr settings, and salinity restoration address the stated thermocline and ENSO goals; done means the evaluation is documented with supporting results.

Written by the indexing model from the issue text.

Description

Purpose:
Evaluate the new KPP formulation developed by Bill Large. This code is still in an early testing phase and may contain bugs. The primary goal is to address thermocline biases in the tropics, with potential implications for ENSO. Salinity restoration is applied only in the Lab Sea.

Description:

Clone of run 170 (#98), new KPP mods + Bodner Cr v11 (zero in the Lab Se and 0.03 elsewhere) + enhancing ustar using equilibrium surface waves (La-2=11), WAVE_ENHANCED_USTAR = True.
