Research direction

Start by reproducing the reported UnicodeEncodeError with a non-ASCII collection name and with a non-ASCII extra attribute when strict is false. Trace the relevant MongoEngine handling for collection names and stored extra attributes; done means these cases no longer raise the reported encoding error while preserving the stated strict behavior.
