Research direction

No source file, test, or entry point is named. Start by reproducing transparent background behavior for a subwindow on Linux and macOS, then trace the desktop_multi_window implementation for platform-specific background handling. Done means transparent subwindows render transparently on both platforms without changing the Windows behavior.
