Description
It would be better, if missing channels could be added in a sorted manner to the node. While we're at it, we could consolidate update implementations. At least the following nodes implement something like this:
- Lua filters
- Shift filters
- Sequencer
- Cue
- Effects Stack
- Import Filter
- Autosum

Research direction
Start by locating the channel-update implementations for the Lua, Shift, Sequencer, Cue, Effects Stack, Import Filter, and Autosum nodes. Compare how each handles missing channels and identify the existing tests, if any. Done means missing channels are added in sorted order and the repeated update behavior is consolidated across the named nodes.
