Description

To the Xiaomi Open Source Development Team,
This issue is being opened to formally request the release of the Kernel Source Code and Kernel Device Tree for the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ (amethyst).
As of March 2026, it has been approximately 18 months since this device was officially released to the market. We have observed that Xiaomi has already published sources for significantly newer models, such as the Redmi 15 series. This creates an unfair and inconsistent situation for the amethyst developer community.
GPL Compliance & Community Impact:
The Linux Kernel is licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL) v2. Under these terms, the distribution of kernel source code is a requirement, not a choice. The continued withholding of these sources:
Hinders the development of stable, security-focused Custom Recoveries (TWRP/OrangeFox).
Prevents the community from maintaining up-to-date AOSP-based projects (Evolution X, LineageOS, etc.).
Leaves users with no choice but to rely on prebuilt, non-auditable binaries, which is suboptimal for system security.
Our Expectation:
We are seeking a concrete status update regarding the publication of the amethyst branch. We kindly request that the team avoids providing automated or generic "stay tuned" responses, as the community is looking for a technical commitment or a direct link to the repository.
The developer community for the SM7635 platform is waiting for your cooperation to keep this device relevant and secure.

Research direction

Start by reviewing the open request in MiCode/kernel_devicetree issue #68 and checking whether the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ (amethyst) sources or branch have been published. Done would require a concrete technical status update or a direct repository link from the Xiaomi Open Source Development Team.
