GPL Request: Complete, buildable and bootable kernel sources for Redmi Note 10 5G/Redmi Note 11SE/Redmi Note 10T 5G/POCO M3 Pro 5G (camellia(n)) kernel 4.14.186

Hello Xiaomi Developers and Community Managers,

We are writing to formally request the release the Fully fixed Complete,Buildable and Bootable kernel source code with proper display drivers for the Redmi Note 10 5G/Redmi Note 11SE/Redmi Note 10T 5G/POCO M3 Pro 5G of kernel 4.14.186

For the past weeks, I have tried to boot into the binary compiled from the kernel source but failed. I used the defconfigs provided in the kernel source and also tried extracting the config from the device running a 4.14 kernel, but the kernel refuses to boot. Neither using the build script nor compiling the kernel manually produces a bootable binary.

Regarding defconfigs: camellian_gl_defconfig seems to provide the least painful way to compile the kernel, but none of the defconfigs provided in the tree have resulted in a bootable system.

As required by the GNU General Public License version 2 (GPLv2), under which the Linux kernel is licensed, any manufacturer distributing a product containing the kernel must make the complete source code publicly available.

The availability of this kernel source code is essential for the custom development community. It enables developers to build custom ROMs, kernels, and other modifications that significantly improve the device’s longevity, security, and overall functionality for users worldwide.

We would greatly appreciate it if you could publish the source code on the official MiCode GitHub repository.

Start with the provided defconfigs, especially camellian_gl_defconfig, and compare the repository build script with manual kernel compilation. Investigate why each resulting 4.14.186 binary fails to boot and whether the display drivers are complete. Done means the published sources build successfully and produce a bootable kernel for the listed devices.
