Description

Overview

I formally request Xiaomi to publish the full matching Linux kernel source code, device tree, and vendor blobs for the Redmi K90 Ultra on the official MiCode open source repository.

Device Full Information
  • Device Marketing Name: Redmi K90 Ultra
  • Internal Codename: k90ultra
  • Current HyperOS Version: OS2.0 Stable Official Build
  • Android Base Version: Android 15
  • Running Kernel Version: Linux 6.6 Qualcomm Platform
  • Full Build Fingerprint: Official HyperOS Factory Build for Redmi K90 Ultra
Reason for This Request
  1. GPLv2 License Obligation
The Linux kernel is distributed under GNU GPL v2 Section 3. Xiaomi distributes pre-compiled kernel binaries inside official HyperOS full OTA payload.bin firmware packages. According to the license, the complete corresponding source code must be made publicly available upon user request.

  2. Open Source Development Needs
As an independent security researcher and kernel developer, I need the official matching source code to carry out the following legitimate non-commercial work:

  • Kernel reverse engineering & memory offset analysis for Linux ARM64 security research
  • Custom kernel compilation, KernelSU adaptation, driver debugging
  • Fix missing global kernel symbols such as p0_phys_offset and p0_kernel_phys_load which are stripped from factory kernel binaries
  • Study physical/virtual memory mapping logic of Qualcomm platform kernel
  1. Community Benefit
Public complete kernel source will benefit the entire Xiaomi custom ROM, security research, and open-source mod community to extend device service life and fix kernel vulnerabilities.
What I Have Already Checked
  1. Searched all existing branches in https://github.com/MiCode/Xiaomi_Kernel_OpenSource, no matching source for Redmi K90 Ultra exists
  2. Checked all closed & open historical Issues for this device, no related source release records
  3. Downloaded official full HyperOS OTA payload package, extracted boot.img, confirmed the factory kernel lacks complete ELF symbols
  4. No third-party complete matching kernel source is available online for this firmware version
Expectation

Please release the full kernel source, device tree, audio/wlan/vendor driver open source modules under MiCode GitHub repo, create a dedicated branch matching the current HyperOS build of Redmi K90 Ultra.

Thank you for supporting open source compliance and the developer community.

Research direction

Start by reviewing the Xiaomi_Kernel_OpenSource repository branches and the issue's stated checks of the official HyperOS OTA and extracted boot.img. Done would require Xiaomi to publish matching kernel source, device tree, and requested vendor driver sources for the Redmi K90 Ultra under a corresponding repository branch.
