Description

Hello Xiaomi Kernel Team,

I am writing to formally request the release of the complete and corresponding Linux kernel source code for the Xiaomi Pad 8
Codename: yupei
Model code: 25097RP43G (and related regional variants)

These devices are commercially available and ship with a Linux kernel licensed under GPLv2. As per the requirements of the GNU General Public License version 2 (and consistent with Xiaomi's long-standing practice of releasing kernel sources via this repository), the corresponding kernel source code should be made publicly available.

I have checked the Xiaomi_Kernel_OpenSource repository and could not find a branch or release for the "yupei" codename (or any matching entries for these model names). I am interested in custom ROM development, kernel modifications, security research, and general open-ness.

Releasing the kernel source would greatly benefit:

• The custom development community (custom kernels, recoveries, alternative OSs)
• Users interested in building their own firmware or understanding device internals
• Compliance with open-source licensing obligations

Could you please provide an estimated timeline for when the spring kernel source (matching the current shipping firmware, e.g., HyperOS 3 based on Android 16) will be uploaded to this repository?

Thank you very much for your attention and continued support for open-source compliance.

Research direction

No repository file, test, or implementation entry point is identified. Start by searching the repository branches and releases for “yupei” and model code 25097RP43G; done would require the corresponding kernel source to be published for the requested device and firmware.
