Description
Hello,
I would like to report an alleged violation of the GNU GPLv2 license by Xiaomi.
The device concerned is the Poco C40 (SoC: JLQ JR510), which uses the Linux
kernel version 5.4.242-jgki-android-11-2 and is distributed with Android 11.
I formally requested the complete Linux kernel source code, including device
tree files and vendor-related kernel components, as required under the GPLv2
license. Xiaomi customer support explicitly refused to provide these sources.
A screenshot of the official refusal is attached as evidence.
This report is submitted in good faith as an attempt to seek review and
assistance regarding GPLv2 compliance. An attempt was also made to contact
Xiaomi via the legal email address listed on their website, but the address
did not appear to be functional.
I would also like to note that this GPL compliance concern has been forwarded
to Xiaomi’s legal/compliance team, but no
compliant response has been provided so far.
Thank you for your time and efforts.
Best regards,
Ali Burak Kodalak

Research direction
Start by reviewing the issue body and attached refusal regarding the Poco C40, Linux kernel 5.4.242-jgki-android-11-2, device-tree files, and vendor-related kernel components. No repository file, test, or implementation entry point is identified; completion would require a maintainer or compliance process to determine the appropriate response.
