The "new comments" filter is useless on the home page because of old questions

Description
I didn't find a ticket about this. Currently, when you are on the home page and apply the "new comments" filter, you're getting all of the comments you have not read. Literally all of them, nevermind that the question was closed years ago and that you did not forecast on it.
Maybe the only limit is that it's after the creation of your account?
I think resolved questions should disappear from this feed after something like 6 months and comments which are over 2 years old should no longer count as "new comments". (although I have a weaker belief on that second one)
