Description

**Description**

Share links generated on mobile device do not work with the extension.

1. Click 'Receive' on mobile, then click 'Request Payment', choose what you want to receive. You will get 2 options: QR code and a link to share. Choose link.

2. Clicking on the link takes you to MetaMask download page(I have extension installed as you can see on the screenshot):

**Proposed behavior**

I'm not sure if links generated on mobile could be fixed as mobile QR codes do not work with the extension as well (https://github.com/MetaMask/metamask-extension/issues/14306).
Probably 'Send this link to a friend and it will ask them to send ...' message could be modified to make it more clear for a user. For now a user is expecting to be able to use this link everywhere while it works on mobile only.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the mobile Receive → Request Payment flow and opening the generated share link with the extension installed. Compare the link and QR-code behavior across mobile and extension, then determine whether the link can work cross-platform or whether the user-facing message must explain the mobile-only limitation; done means the behavior or guidance is accurate.
