Displaying account name to the user

I am currently building a dapp that requires to display the metamask account of the user; In order to do so, I would like to display the vernacular name of the account, and not just it's ethereum 0x account number.

It would be very nice if this was provided by the extension directly with a simple api call with the account number obtained from web3, this way users will not get confused as to which account they are using and will not require to open metamask to check.
