### Describe the bug

When the extension is enabled and doing nothing, there is an absurd amount of burst IndexedDB activity causing high CPU.

When disabled, my idle Firefox energy impact is reduced over 100x.

Reproduce on macOS with MetaMask 12.17.3 in Firefox, using Activity Monitor and Firefox Task Manager while the extension is idle; done means identifying the source of the periodic IndexedDB activity and verifying that idle CPU usage is substantially reduced.
