Description

When using search on a ru/en page and clicking a search result that links to a page in Chinese, it redirects to the homepage instead of the expected page.

Steps I took:

  1. Went to https://wiki.metacubex.one/ru/config/
  2. Typed smux in the search
  3. The first result in the list was a page in Chinese
  4. Left-clicked on it

As a result, I was redirected to https://wiki.metacubex.one/config/ instead of https://wiki.metacubex.one/config/proxies/?h=smux, which is where the searched term actually appears.

However, if I right-click the search result and choose "Open Link in New Tab", it opens correctly.

Additionally, if feasible, I'd like to suggest that search results be sorted based on the currently selected page language, so that the page in the current language always appears first. That is, if ru is selected, the page in Russian should always be shown first in the search results!

Research direction

Start by reproducing the search from https://wiki.metacubex.one/ru/config/ with smux, comparing left-click behavior with “Open Link in New Tab.” Trace how the result navigates to /config/ versus /config/proxies/?h=smux; done means a normal click opens the expected result, with language ordering addressed if it is part of the fix.
