### Brief description

The PSydata API allows for the automatic generation of (Vernier) timing callipers around kernels, invokes and routines. This should be added as an option for profiling, as well as build options for enabling/ disabling.
This is blocked by #68.

Research direction

Begin with the blocked dependency in issue #68 and trace how the PSydata API generates Vernier timing callipers around kernels, invokes, and routines. Then identify the profiling and build-option entry points for enabling or disabling this behavior. Done means timing callipers can be generated for the requested targets and controlled through the build options.
