# Parameterisation of PFTs in veg3/JULES-RED
Currently the JULES-TRIFFID/veg2 configuration generally outperforms the JULES-RED/veg3 configuration. This is likely due to the fact that the PFT parameterisation for the RED model is not as well tuned as the TRIFFID model.
