Description
As part of the update to iris 3.12 and python 3.12 here https://github.com/MetOffice/CDDS/pull/774 some functional tests had to be updated to add tolerance values so they wouldn't fail e.g. https://github.com/MetOffice/CDDS/pull/774/files/e732cce8e09a482698a0be2724d520ce58b74129#diff-7279879d40f6481b57cac62d531979109704faa5dc806974de85a7165dbfbc6d

Research direction
Start by reviewing pull request 774 and its referenced file diff to identify the functional tests that already received tolerance values. Find the remaining reference-version tests, update their tolerance values consistently, and run the functional test suite to confirm that all affected tests pass.
