Description

Raising issue more for awareness as some of the mappings might not need `DAYS_IN_YEAR` due to changes in the underlying model configuration. E.g. 10 day timestep being replaced by 1 day timestep.

Research direction

No files or tests are named. Start by auditing the Gregorian mappings and the underlying model configuration to find which mappings still depend on DAYS_IN_YEAR, then compare them with the proposed timestep change. Done means the affected mappings work correctly when a 10-day timestep is replaced by a 1-day timestep.
