what "inhibitor" means???

Hello
i used DeepBGC and found some BGCs classified to have the "inhibitor" activity but i don't know they are inhibitors to what???
when i read the DeepBGC article, I was't able to find any information about the type of these inhibitors or which compounds they inhibit.
