Description

I have 17k emails in my relatively new gmail and ~80k in my other.

I really just want my current inbox. Not everything.

Incremental could work, or a filter on the messages endpoint at https://developers.google.com/gmail/api/reference/rest/v1/users.messages/list#:~:text=in%20the%20list.-,q,-string

Not sure which one I"ll go with yet 🤷

Research direction

The issue points to Gmail's users.messages.list endpoint as the relevant entry point; start by reviewing its filtering options and how the tap currently retrieves messages. Decide whether incremental retrieval or a messages query best limits extraction to the current inbox, then verify that the tap no longer processes the full mailbox.
