Description
Feature Description
Transitioning to edit mode is a bit jarring as is. The sidebar doesn't really slide out nicely or anything, it feels like the screen just swaps.
Use Case
Better UX!
Additional Context
You can see the choppy animation if you make a graph then click edit. You'll see the sidebar kinda pop out abruptly. Clicking X on the sidebar is the same experience.

Research direction
Reproduce the issue by making a graph, clicking Edit, and then closing the sidebar. Locate the edit-mode and sidebar transition entry points, then make entering and leaving edit mode animate smoothly; done means the sidebar no longer appears or disappears abruptly in both flows.
