This collection contains images related to the activities of the Richmond Fire Department.
This collection was compiled by John Francis Finnegan, Sr. (1889-1959) and his son, John Francis Finnegan, Jr. (1918-2001). Finnegan, Sr. began collecting the images in 1933. Finnegan, Jr. donated the bulk of the collection (about 1200 images) in 1973, with smaller donations continuing until 1988. Both Finnegans served the Richmond Fire Department and served as chief: Finnegan, Sr. (1944-1959) and Finnegan, Jr. (1972-1978).
