Description
Installed MagicPyton on VSCode. I found no benefit in using MagicPython. I uninstalled the extension, but now my "save-as" (for Python) is stuck on "gyp" and does not allow "py" extensions.
I completely uninstalled VSCode (using AppCleaner). Reinstalled VSCode, but the issue remains. Somehow, installing MagicPython modified the defaults on my computer.
Can someone please explain how I can get VSCode (or my Mac) to start saving files using the "py" extension?
Thanks.

Research direction
Start with the reported VSCode 1.47.3 and macOS Catalina details, then reproduce the Save-As behavior described in the issue and inspect the attached screenshot. Compare the behavior before and after uninstalling MagicPython and a clean VSCode install. Done means determining whether MagicPython caused the .gyp association and restoring or documenting the expected .py save behavior.
