Description

This seems to only happen when I run M2 on HPCs. I don't know what's causing the instability and I haven't been able to reproduce it locally. Here is a very egregious case:

This was in a non-standard graded ring with degrees 1,1,1,1,1,1,2,2,2,2,2,2,3 over ZZ/32003.

Research direction

Start by examining minimalBetti and the reported behavior when running M2 on HPC systems, using the non-standard graded ring over ZZ/32003 as the available reproduction case. Determine why negative values can be produced and establish a reproducible check showing that minimalBetti no longer returns invalid negative numbers.
