Description

Research direction

No file, test, or entry point is named in the issue, so start by reproducing the update-and-relaunch behavior and tracing how the macOS app handles launch and document restoration. Done means reopening after an update restores the previously opened file instead of creating an untitled file, with an appropriate regression test if the existing test structure supports it.
