Description

The 0.53 update can't be automatically installed:

screen shot 2015-11-13 at 2 15 48 pm

The reason is:

11/13/15 2:15:39.959 PM MacDown[25201]: NSURLSession/NSURLConnection HTTP load failed (kCFStreamErrorDomainSSL, -9802)

I think this is caused by the TLS 1.2 requirement. The only workaround is to manually download the update.

Can the update notes be modified to reflect this? Those seemed to load OK.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the automatic 0.5.3 update on macOS and compare it with the manually downloaded update and the update notes, which the issue says load successfully. Trace the updater behavior behind the reported TLS error; done means the update installs automatically or clearly directs affected users to the manual download.
