Description
I only use MacDown as an editor, so I'd like to have an option to always hide the Preview Pane.
In the current version, If I hide the preview manually while editing a file, it seems to stay hidden in the files I edit afterwards. However, in some files the pane pops back, apparently on a random basis since I couldn't reproduce this behaviour.

Research direction
Start by tracing how MacDown stores and restores Preview Pane visibility when switching between files, then reproduce the pane reappearing while editing several files. Identify the existing visibility control and determine where a persistent preference belongs. Done means users can choose to keep the Preview Pane hidden and that choice remains consistent across files and sessions.
