Description

Extracted from https://github.com/uranusjr/macdown/issues/76. If OSX is configured to show permanent scrollbars (option is set to "Always" or a mouse is connected), then the app always shows scrollbars for both panels, even if one of them is hidden.

Research direction

No source file, test, or entry point is identified. Reproduce the issue with macOS scrollbars set to Always and each panel visibility state, then trace the scrollbar layout for the panels. Done means hidden panels no longer display scrollbars while visible panels retain the expected behavior.
