MacDown stalled with math formula from time to time

Hi! I am using version 0.7.1 to write some of my math homework at school.
The app works great with a small amount of math formula but when I add more, it sometimes (not always) get stalled for a few seconds after I type in a new character.
So far the program always come back normal after that, and it never cracked, but the stalling is quite annoying. Is there a way to fix this?
P.S. although I haven't figured out how to reliably reproduce the stalling, one thing I noticed is that it happens more frequently with math formula and images together. If I remove all the included figures, there will be less but still some stalling

Start by reproducing the stall in MacDown 0.7.1 with a document containing multiple math formulas and images, then compare typing responsiveness with and without the figures. The issue is resolved when adding characters no longer causes multi-second stalls in those documents.
