Render newline option not working in lists

Hi,
I have the option enabled to render newline literally. However, in lists, new lines that should be subsumed under the same bullet point do not render as new line automatically, but do so only when two spaces are added to the end of the line. Would be great to have that fixed, thank you!

Start by reproducing the Markdown list case with the literal-newline option enabled, comparing the examples with and without trailing spaces. Done means a newline within the same bullet renders automatically without requiring two trailing spaces; no file or test path is named in the issue.
