Description

As par of a research question I want to validate a developed model in the MIMIC III database. The model includes the APACHE IV predictors, as in the original model. The available codes (APSIII) in the repository have helped us a lot, thanks for this. However, is it true that no code is available defining comorbidities according to APACHE IV chronic health conditions? The Elixhauser comorbidity mapping is not the same as in the APACHE IV and is therefore not completely useful. Is the same true for APACHE IV origin of patient (medical/floor, surgery/OR/recovery, other hospital)? Could you provide some advice in this?

Thank you!

Research direction

The issue names no files, tests, or entry points; begin by reviewing the repository's existing APSIII code and Elixhauser comorbidity mapping. Compare those implementations with the APACHE IV chronic health conditions and patient-origin categories, then clarify the required outputs and validation criteria before implementation.
