Description
Hi there,
I am currently trying to complete the registration process required to access the MIMIC-III database - MedNLI dataset as i need it for my Final Year Research Project, and I’ve encountered a barrier regarding the instructions listed under Step 3 of the CITI Course instructions.
Specifically, the instructions state:
"Fill out the form. Please use your institutional address, not a personal address, where possible (note, you do not require an MIT address)."
However, I am a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) student and currently do not have an institutional email address—only a personal one. This is preventing me from progressing with the form as required.
Has anyone else experienced a similar situation? Is it acceptable to proceed with a personal email address in this case, or is there an alternative workaround for students without institutional addresses?
Thanks in advance for your support and guidance!

Research direction
Review Step 3 of the CITI Course instructions and the linked MIMIC online documentation, then compare the reported institutional-email requirement with the common solutions link. Clarify whether students without institutional addresses need an alternative, and update the relevant guidance only if maintainers confirm a documentation change is needed.
