Description

Who can provide the premise of intubation? I don't know whether the relevant description exists in MIMIC-III.

For example: 'criteria for endogenous introduction were predetermined and considered in 1) signs of persisting or worsing respiratory failure including at least two of the following criteria: respiratory rate above 40 breaths / min, lack of improvement of signs of high respiratory muscle workload, development of copious trace secrets, pH below 7.35, or Spo2 below 90% for more than 5 minutes; 2) hemodynamic instability; or 3) deterioration of neurologic status.'

I made some queries on mimic_clinical,mimiciii_derived,mimiciii_notes in bigquery, and there was no information about the premise of intubation. I'm not a doctor, and I'm not sensitive to information such as the description of these patients' condition, so I'm not sure if there was any omission in the inquiry process

Research direction

Start with the linked MIMIC-III online documentation and the MIMIC clinical, derived, and notes datasets queried in BigQuery. Determine whether the database documents clinical indications for intubation; done means providing a sourced explanation or clearly documenting that this information is not represented.
