Description

One thing we don't cover is why mean T2* and S0 values vary across the brain. Some mechanisms that might come into play:

  • B0 inhomogeneity
  • proximity of air-tissue boundaries?
  • iron/myelin content?
  • would basal neural activity affect T2*?

Research direction

The issue does not name any files, tests, or entry points. Review the current material to determine how variability in mean T2* and S0 is covered, then establish whether the listed mechanisms should be documented; the work is done when the missing explanation and its scope are agreed and added.
