Research direction
Reproduce the reported coloring problem with the annotation ---@field xxx table<string, {}> in LuaLS and compare the rendered result with the expected highlighting shown in the attached image. Trace the annotation parsing or highlighting path responsible for the final angle bracket; done means the closing angle bracket receives the correct color without regressing other generic type annotations.
