Description

The dependency macos-alias requires platform OS X (os: darwin). This means I cannot install ds-store package in my environment.

I would like to create .DS_Store file in a build script that is run on Linux build server. Is the platform limitation really required? It would be nice if this was platform independent.

Research direction

Start by tracing the macos-alias dependency and the package's platform declaration to identify what prevents installation on Linux. Read the linked bookmarkData reference and compare the current behavior on OS X and Linux. Done means the package can install on Linux and create a .DS_Store file from a Linux build script without requiring darwin.
