Description
🚀 Feature
Let's make Thunder applicable to a broader range of PyTorch model implementations by using Thunder together with torch.compile.
The detailed proposal can be found in the following Google doc:

Research direction
Start with the detailed proposal in the linked Google document, then read Lightning-AI/lightning-thunder#539 and lit-thunder-LEGACY#1904 for prior context. Identify the integration scope and acceptance criteria there; the work is done when Thunder can be used as a torch.compile backend across the intended PyTorch model implementations.
