Description

From Justin (MS TA):

In section 2.5.2 my students had mentioned that there could be more clarity or perhaps a little tutorial regarding variable substitution. In particular the part where they can choose any editor.

Some students mentioned not knowing necessarily which editor to use and also some said that they used notepad ++ and had some errors.

Given that for some students it is there first experience with the CLI they mentioned having a bit more guidance in that section could be helpful!

Research direction

Start with section 2.5.2 and review its current explanation of variable substitution and editor choice. Clarify the editor guidance for students new to the CLI, including the reported Notepad++ issue, and consider a short tutorial. Done means the section gives enough direction for a first-time student to complete the exercise without confusion.
